Simple answer, they’re popular and IRpost/streamers lol.
SpaceGh0stپیش ساعت
It seems like the car community needs to move on from the Japanese legends and other popular platforms, and find more overlooked platforms. That would both decrease the demand, and lower the prices, and there'll be a bunch of newly discovered/ more popular platforms

You know I think one of the main reasons enthusiast cars are so expensive is because if IRpost. Let’s be honest here, a lot of content creators will talk about how great one car is so much that everyone will eventually want one which increases demand but obviously the cars aren’t being made so what happens??? The prices rise and as much as I love watching the content I have to admit that it’s really not helping the search for a new project for anyone who is on a budget. I remember watching a video on fitment industries Channel about the 350z and after that video came out and some other videos talking about the 350z the prices starting going up( that’s besides from the fact that it’s basically the modern day 240sx in a way because of how cheap it can be in some cases and it’s ability to slide). It’s not just the 350z though because like they said it’s tons of cars like miatas and I’ve even seen rx8 prices a little bit( this is a car that literally no one wanted anything to do with for the longest time). I believe that people know that these cars are going to get expensive at one point if they aren’t already and that they also know that electrification is starting to be on the horizon” for real this time” and they obviously can’t afford to spend 20k on an FD rx7 so they’re settling for something newer instead of an older FC( prices on FC/FB RX7’s have started to rise too). Again this doesn’t just apply to the cars I’ve mentioned, but these are examples. Unfortunately it is inevitable, but as enthusiasts all we can do is try to delay it as much as we can and enjoy these things while we can.

If the Japanese could learn something from the Americans, it would be for Nissan, Toyota, Mazda etc to create or step up there heritage programs for the cars and not overcharge. Since the cars are popular there always demand. And they would be taking care of there heritage....

I've seen some crazy prices during the past few years. 600€ for the power heated folding mirror switch of an EG6 Civic, 850€ for the OEM fabric of just the rear seat of a '95 Civic, and over 3000€ just for a genuine Mugen cluster.

Car manufacturers should just make cars like they used to, then we can buy the older cars, but new. Screw safety and emissions regulations.

Very true. Demand has gone through the roof. The 25 year rule in the US has meant alot of Japanese 90's imports have been exported from Australia. They're now much more expensive here as a result. Getrag V160's in Supra's and Skyline R34 GTR's are now really really expensive.

Agree, buying stuff hoarding, and selling for forprofit doesn't make you a good businessman, it makes you an A**hole. It is like poisoning the water local water supply so you can sell softdrinks. Buying stuff choosing the best among them and selling the ones you don't want anymore at a premium also makes you an A**hole because it is like selling your half-eaten Big Mac to someone hungry at full price. I understand if you sell parts after you clean them up and made sure they are still good. That is ok since you are paying extra for the work of cleaning and checking they did. But if you simply pull out the part from a junked car and sell it like the one who did the work, then same on you.

One thing I randomly think about is when cars reach 'near extinction' for lack of a better term. At some point, the number of S-chassis that people are simply preserving for enjoyment will outnumber the number of people who are building them simply to drift them.
Sideways Gپیش 8 ساعت
And then you have the so-called "enthusiasts" who are proud as hell to say things like "you gotta pay to play" and rag on people who opt for replica parts when they refuse to pay the over-inflated prices for originals.

Two thoughts: 1) instead of a legacy parts program why not a legacy cars program. There seems to be a market for these cars, hence overpaying for them. Is this possible? 2) As we move into more EVs and other green tech, eventually it will be too costly to own gas powered cars. I imagine then prices tanking for these vehicles.

You missed one of the biggest reasons. Kids who grew up with these on their walls in their bedrooms are now cashed up enough to be able to start paying for them and affording them. Just like the generations before us who pay 6 figures for an old family car at an auction like a Plymouth or dodge etc. The demand is out there and the supply is limited but people are willing to throw everything at it to have their childhood dream cars

At this point I don't think I'll ever get my dream car. The weirdest thing to me is that my car, a 2016 BRZ, is some people's dream car, while my dream car is like an R32 GTR or a 300zx. I bought the BRZ because it was the cheapest, newest, most reliable JDM sports car I could afford.

8:18 THESE to talk about the first thing you said. "Save your parts". So you mean blowing up a engine is a stupid thing to do? An you are also saying when you take off that Stock intake to NOT throw it like a azzhole? An your also saying to not drill holes into the dash these to put those Sick Greddy gauges in? Weird I been saying that for years and was called toxic for thinking so. Also the HOLE import car hobby is the problem.
