Finally, there is only one thing I can correct the mighty guru on. The diff in a car is actually offset aswell, may be different on some really early diffs but every one I've seen from the last 60 years cars and trucks, all are offset, and they're offset towards the bottom. If I recall correctly the fox body mustang reverse mounted one of the rear shocks to help resist twisting of the axle.

I'm from the uk, and also a sparktrician/ muck chucker. Over here we have different types of circuit breakers (MCB), not sure this will help you cunuckastanians but a typical domestic breakers are "type B" and these cause nuisance tripping of breakers in small work shops when using the likes of table saws, chop saws etc. But when a "type C" breaker is installed the initial inrush current doesn't cause this tripping. Im not sure what your set up is but maybe the dewclaw may be able to help you out with a cunuckastanian equivalent.....hope this helps 👍

Always a good idea to open the gear case. Some are made of a porous metal or such and after several years on the shelf the volitiles gas out and leave a hard wax that does nothing.

last time I did my bathroom floor (on wood), I put porcelain tile over ply. The mortar/adhesive that I got encouraged me to put an additive in it to make the mortar much harder and more durable. So, of course I did that. I thought the floor would outlive me. Now, about 8 years later, the mrs wants me to redo the bathroom or have someone else do it (no thanks - little BR is supposedly a $25k project here? unless you just cover it up with glorified wallpaper). Someone will be cursing to get the mortar off. I remember this job from my youth working for a tile contractor. It's 200 parts "I think that's good enough, I hurt now" plus another 200 parts "I think I can probably get a little more off" and 200 parts "I no longer hear high frequencies".

Just heard the comment from FOG - the sander? I guess that would work slowly, and the adhesive would just tear the big grits right off of the paper. what a dumb idea. I'm sure that adhesive is just loaded with silica, and maybe worse. yees are trying to break it off in big pieces, not try to remove it grain by grain. You landed on the right idea - those guys on FOG are lacking proper laziness combined with smarts. This t'aint the place for conscientious or patient people.

Two years late but my most hated tool - pneumatic snap ring tool. The tool was implemented on the line in a few different stations at Chrysler Jnap assembly for about a week some 8 odd years ago but I still have quite vivid memories of it lol Jnap is an assembly line in Detroit with a couple thousand workers ( most of which are from Detroit ) on any given shift and these employees are FAR from people you would want near anything more complex than a basketball much less pneumatic snap ring tools. Needless to say, the tool made it one week before it needed to be phased out and replaced with an entirely redesigned method including a few new required safety practices.

I gave that rough spot on the ratchet some thought. Your not the only person to comment about the rough section. Knowing the Japanese and if they are the fapon of Japan, that was most likely left like that on purpose. For one it’s a bit of a tough spot to get but still doable. Maybe it’s left rough for wear reasons and prevent the looks of wear on the surface of the chrome. They seem to pride themselves in their finish of the polish and that switch they must look at it like an areas were wear can show up very predictably so leaving it bumpy may prevent an otherwise smooth surface to have obvious arc like scratches ruining the whole mirrored look. I saw it as more purposeful and you see it on all of their wrenches. It seems to vary.

This is absurdly bad value. Lots of greenhorn design all over. Disappointing really. German engineering - yeah, no thanks this time. This is meant to be a tool, not a sports car. You can suck the dealers’ dicks if you are BMW or Porsche, but this is meant to go into someone’s truck or workshop and do it’s job dependably for years at that price yet it looks like your average German car that will need to be in the shop once a year just so that the radio keeps on working.

FFS you could've lassoed the mill with a logging chain straight off and drug her with the Chevy to do less harm. Of course if you have a tractor that is the second choice if the apprentice/oldest son can't move it with a wheelbarrow. Aztecs, Myans, the lost tribe of Israel, and assorted aliens may have helped but we can be sure the Canadians had no hand in the building of the Giza pyramids.

I bought one for my fish aquarium. I got tired of buying the crappy ones from walmart and the fish store that all have the rubber diaphram that wears out in 6 months. My linear compressor has ran 24 hours a day 7 days a week for 6 going on 7 years now. It is well worth the money and I dont believe it cost much more than the crappy ones. I highly recommend one for an aquarium.
