I understand creating the Patreon, I really do. It's a quick way to generate revenue and if you're channel/business is suffering financially, I get it. I'm not hating on it but I don't agree with how its being sold to the fans. I just question from an executive/management point of view some of the decisions made that are leading to asking fans to support the channel out if their own pockets... I've seen several videos from JK basically blaming all of this on IRpost demonetizing their videos. Wait a minute.. From a management level, where was the executive decision to implement format changes to even try to keep monetization? Even if it was temporary..? There were none. I don't mean editing out language or coming up with family friendly titles. I mean where were the executive decisions months ago when demonetization first started to change the format of the channel to allow for more private sponsorships or where were the decisions from a management/executive level to make some of the hard decisions those roles must make to downsize or rotate staff according to budget for that month. Cutting back from 24 videos a week to maybe 10 or limiting shoot days from 10-12 hour days to 6 hours. Management decisions like that keep costs down which is all plays a part in monetization and revenue. I don't think it's right to sell the Patreon to fans as blame on IRpost and new policies/algorithms. Take responsibility for mismanagement on your part as a channel. JKN just brought KC in as a director at a time when the channel is on life support financially, who approved that!? How is there room for that in the already crippled budget!? Management should have brought in some interns to help Tiff and help run the show.. it's free and you're giving good experience to young kids. Instead now they have to pay KC as a director!? Makes no sense. I've also seen JK videos saying the Patreon isn't for the top JK guys because they all have side businesses.. that's irrelevant and has nothing to do with the performance of the channels revenue. If you think that the cast (top JK people) are sitting at JK for 10 hours a day, one day a week and not getting paid, you're wrong. Infact I bet the Lions share of JKN revenue goes to cast, not the crew (editors). So the Patreon isn't for crew like editors it's for the entire company, including the top key players of JK. They don't work for free. If cast is using 50-60% of revenue to get paid and leaving 20% to pay crew editors and 20% for operations cost.. that's a mismanagement of the channel. There's a delicate line in creating a business with friends. As a manager or executive there are going to be hard times that you have to be able to make tough calls/decisions and some of those might be having to fire your friends for the sake of saving the channel/company. I question weather or not because of the delicacy in the friendship building within JK, that the managers and execs are able to make those decisions. Bringing KC onto the payroll right now from a management POV is absurd. So it's not entirely IRpost's fault for demonetizing... There are definitely some things internally within the channel that should have been done prior to asking fans to support the channel due to mismanagement. My point is, the selling points for the Patreon aren't entirely accurate and that I have an issue with. I know this might sound like a hater post, it's not.. it's tough love. I love everyone at JK and I have supported them for years but you can't ask fans to support the channel now without keeping it 💯. There are management issues within this channel and until the channel can evolve and figure those out and start tough loving their friends, their channel.. the monetary and revenue issues will remain. Patreon or not. I saw something that the goal was 5000 Patrons.. at $5 bucks that's $25,000p/mo. If each cast member + KC gets an extra $800-1000 a week you're only leaving 2 grand for your staff (editors). You're still in the same boat! The point is, management should step up! I love Jess but she needs as (channel manager) to call Joe, Bart, Geo and KC into a room and really sit down and come up with a fix to some of these issues. Even if it means some friends may get cut from the channel for awhile. It's not an easy job but you can't bypass these issues by blaming IRpost for everything and then asking fans to dish out the extra costs. I'm happy to contribute but don't sell me some bullshit about IRpost is doing this to the channel and you need money for editors. The whole crew gets paid for their time. Keep it 💯! Respectfully, thanks.
