Dougo was of course correct to spin the motor over you shift to a higher gear because it spins the motor over easier. Good old dad had it in low gear so just mostly slid. Oh by the way Dougo and Chet if you flood a gas engine you turn off the choke and open the throttle wide open so when you crank it it brings in fresh air. You do this till you think it is chooched out with the engine turning over and at just the right time put on half choke if it flooded before.

Have you heard of the Swedish book author Vilhelm Moberg, he wrote three books on subject of the first emigrants from Swedish part of Småland who was among the first to start the groundbreaking for farmers in the state of Minnesota in 1850's, good books, but you farmers may not have time for that?, i've heard for 30 years a go of so-called experts that the machines and the computer would relieve the human from many unnecessary work steps and moments but when i see your videos on the tube i know that someone was wrong or lied about it, or they just did not know how sick industrially agriculture was to become in the future. I used to do demolition derby all the time and when Dougo mentioned the Chrysler Imperial I remembered that the Imperial was banned at many tracks because they are truly indestructible. I knew a team that kept two on a trailer and traveled the country running those same cars over and over. Man, they were something to see! They won every single time I ever saw them run. This was back in the 80s and early 90s and they were collectible then but not worth nearly what they are today. I collect 60-66 Chevy pickups and every time I see a clean Imperial at a car show I remember those guys and wonder if that car had ever been in a derby.
