You inspired me to get my very first wok, I strongly suggested the idea to my husband a few days before valentine's &wah-lah!! I have a question though, can I use my wok on an electric cook top or is it ideal to have open flame? I'm assuming I need the burner with flame to at least season it before cooking,no? Sadly my wok sits in plastic awaiting my future food adventures. Any advice/info is so appreciated! I love cooking bomb!

Hi there are many steps in seasoning a wok First wok is tossed with salt it kind of scrub wit paddle in flame for 3 to 5 min this step ensure a metal flakes and industrial residue or cleansed discard the salt to the wok wash it with water with gentle scrubbing with a natural fibres rinse the wok to this usually seasoed with animal fat preferably pig fat according to Chinese and for the vegan seasoning you can use flaxseed oil, coconut oil , walnut oil, Grape seed oil. Seasonings usually it 6 to 7 seasoning. Remember seasoning usually apply very thin flim of the seasoning oil of your choice and wok is brought to scalding hot and excess is wiped away with natural fibre cloth made of cotton or paper towel.
