He should have 3 rings. 1999 Ring doesn’t count. And 2007, the refs ejected the 2 players that shut down Tim. So without them, Duncan had it easy and it left Steve Nash to try and carry his team by himself. Just like Robert Horry, dude should only have 3. 94&95 he wouldn’t have beat Jordan

Tim Duncan had a 9.5 offensive rating and 10 defensive rating in his prime, that’s higher than LeBron, Magic, Bird, and Kobe. So is Tim Duncan underrated even as recognized as a 5-10 best players of all Time?

I had the pleasure to know Tim personally at Wake Forest. I first met him in his first semester on campus. I won't tell personal stories on here other than that he's a great guy and way misunderstood. Hes not shy and he's super funny with a great sense of humor. Quirky personality. I will talk about his basketball skill when he arrived at Wake Forest. His first few games at Wake as a freshman he was horrible. But he was a natural rebounder from the beginning. He just had a nose for where the ball would be and had great hands and footwork. The other teams didn't even guard him he was so bad offensively. Tim used to catch the ball in the post back to the basket and not even try to score, often not realizing he was wide open. The crowd would yell shoot and kind of all laugh. None of us watching could have imagined the player he would become. Tim probably didn't foresee it either. By the end of his freshman year though he was a solid double double player but more of a defender than offensive threat. I can say that during Tim's time at Wake Forest, he never changed personally and I've heard from other friends still in contact with him that hes still the same guy also to this day. He deserves all the success he's achieved.

Yeah I remeber in one interview pop say timmy always have wanted to play point guard, he wanted to be what it’s now jokic, pop was to traditional to try that kind of stuff (I take years for pop to include manu European style and tony to the spurs system) in the same topic I remember another interview of pop saying if Donny (Don Nelson ) coach timmy he would have turn him into a pg or something like that. Don and pop are friends.
Cesar Quint
Cesar Quint پیش ماه
My fave player of all time, a technician and Master of the game, I still remeber being pissed at the spurs in 13 (pop substitute him in the 2 plays that we need rebounds, bron brick rebound bron 3, bron 3 brick Ray Allen, bullshit referees timeout taking or fast break pop being mad ) and 15 for how poorly the support him against the clippers (winning shot by cp3 game 7, tony Parker play horrible and pop stay with him while patty was on fire, kawhi not been ready etc)one of the few player who dominate different eras, “the deadly slow-it-down, grind-it-out, defense-beats-offense era (1999-2004), Duncan won two titles. During the transition period as everyone adjusted to the new rules (2005-6, when the NBA called hand checking and allowed moving picks), he won a third title. In the drive-and-dish/offense-beats-defense/smallball era, he won a fourth and fifth crown and excelled as one of the few big guys polished enough to punish players down low and talented enough to guard quicker players on the other end. He could play any style and bee a monster in bot sides, his timing in blocks is the best ever imo.

Oh, I agree wholeheartedly, the lack of preparedness amongst the young particularly one&dones has diminished the quality of the NBA game. Today's game relies more on athleticism and less on young players actually knowing, understanding how to play. Duncan represented the quintessential pro baller, by focusing on developing the fundamentals before entering the NBA.

Raja Bell said "probably" ... but NBA players and fans we say "Tim is the GOAT at the PF position , the "BEST" PF that ever play ..... anyways , these guys are amazing and their smiles are so contagious even trough a video , i went from PiP to Tim eras and let me tell you , both MJ & Robinson needed that Super Star caliber talented player along side with them ... but Tim was in another Level , a Power Forward GOAT LEVEL , i always said MJ cannot be the ultimate "goat" , he even said it himself , that it would be disrespectful to players who played the game before him , unlike the 2000's players who has made it a "ritual" or a "religious ceremonial" to achieve such level regardless of other players franchise and even family , anyways , Tim all my love to the player a "Real NBA Icon"
