Dustin Poirier returns to Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show to look back at his time on Fight Island that was capped off by knocking out Conor McGregor at UFC 257. “The Diamond” says he hasn’t heard from the UFC (16:00) about what’s next, but expresses that he should be fight for the lightweight title next. He also discusses a potential trilogy against McGregor and the other potential opponents in the lightweight division.

Conor wanted "a war" he couldn't even handle some leg kicks. Not saying they don't hurt, but wars hurt. Conor is garbage at 155 with 1 win. He doesnt deserve a trilogy because he won a fight against a 2014 poirier, its 2021, poirier is the much superior fighter now overall. Sure, Conor has knockout power but that's all he has. After a few minutes he is complete garbage. Poirier should move on and not take this fight.

One thing I will say is Porier does have funky body language. He seems like such a nice guy and almost super shy. He stated many times he doesn't like fighting and I think he doesn't want to hurt anyone, but realizes he is really good at it so in turn, he does enjoy it. I wish I knew how to turn that switch, I could have been a good fighter like him had I been able to get serious in the ring/cage. I would love to talk to Porier and Wonderboy about how they can want to hurt people, yet be so kind.
